By profession I am a landscape painter. Several years back we had a very reputable artist over for dinner, he noticed all of my Arabian things and asked, "What in the world are you doing painting landscapes when you have all of these beautiful things to paint?" I thought about it and sort of shrugged off the idea. Not long after I received a mysterious email signed by someone I did not recognize asking, "Where is your Arabian work?" I assumed it was someone who had read my resume and was looking for Middle Eastern art. I responded to the email and said, "I took all that work off my website years ago because it was old news. Why, and who are you." I received a response from a gal whose husband was a friend of one of my kids and I had given them a painting of the RT Beach for a wedding present. She said, "Every time someone from Saudi comes to our house they love our painting of the RT beach and they want one too. You need to put your Saudi work back up so people can buy it ." I started to consider the idea since two different people from two different walks of life had told me the same thing. The problem is no one form the mountains of North Carolina wants painting of Arabian memories. So, it has taken me a couple of years to figure out how to do this project tastefully and with art others might enjoy.

The hardest part of this project has been coming up with a name. Once the right name came along, the rest of it seemed to fall into place. And so this website is for all of you; the Brats, their parents, and anyone who has lived and enjoyed life in the Middle East. I have broken it up into three main sections: "Treasures" which is a collection of still-life paintings of items you will remember from life in Saudi. "People and Places" a collection of landscape and figure works of sites you will recognize. And lastly, "Behind the Wall" is a collection of work from my years of painting in my yard in Yanbu. Photography will be added with some photos my husband took in Saudi. For those who want miniature versions of these works there are several "Notecard" collections. And, if you want to stay on top of it all and be notified when I have new works available, please sign up for my newsletter.
I hope you enjoy!
